Free Timeline for Teachers

The graduate poetry workshops at Rebecca School are working on a timeline project. The poets are thinking back on important moments and events in their lives as well as thinking ahead to what they’d like to accomplish after graduation.

In prepping for this, I searched for open source timeline templates I could use as models for the students and I stumbled upon this resource: a free timeline creator. This tool is a bit more intense than what I need, but could be a powerful site for history and social studies teachers.

The free version allows you to create and access open sourced timelines that are very in depth! Topics range from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to the lives of American Presidents with just about everything in between. A skilled teacher engaging students with this could not only hit on their subject skills, but also open a discourse on digital literacy since all of these are public and open for comment and critique.

While this wasn’t right for me and my workshops, I hope another educator reading can do some good with this! And if you do, please leave a link to your class timeline in the comments!
