Marimekko no. 5

This graphic illustrator and designer , Aino-Maija Metsola lives in Helsinki but also loves to venture out into the countryside’s to get inspiration for her textile patterns. She continues to push herself to create interesting and beautiful designs. My mother gave me this mug when we finished viewing the Marimekko exhibit in March. I now love this design so much, I hope to get it in a doona cover soon and then I can sleep under her gorgeous blue floral design permanently!

As it stated at The Marimekko Exhibition March to June 18…Marimekko -it’s more than just textiles…It’s a lifestyle concept!

I’m now waiting on a new order for another bag and tablecloth from Marimekko online, also waiting on my Unniko 2 material to be made into drawstring bags for my 3 wooden stools that I will bring to my incursion/workshops. I also have made no headway with seventies marimekko material I still need Marimekko designer and year confirmed…so today this blog is SHORT. Have a great Marimekko week!
